The Ones Who Choose
04:31
|
|||
It's hard for you to speak your mind,
When there's a gun against your head,
And you can't play your own hand,
When it's tied behind your back,
We're the ones who choose,
But heavy lies the head that wears the crown,
You can hide behind disguises but truth will always cut you down
We fear loneliness so much we sometimes forfeit our integrity,
A desperate drive to feel alive will leave you the subject of pity
If you can find your way to yesterday,
Would you still be in this town?

Cogs in the Gear
07:28
|
|||
In the age of reason,
We act the fool,
Against logic and reason,
We fiercely duel
With everything ahead,
We wait with near-sighted dread
You look into my future,
But your lens is in the past,
The lessons that you’ve been taught,
Are all fading fast,
The paradigm has shifted,
And the focus is sharpened,
The lens has been twisted,
While the spirit hardens,
Our time’s spent running,
From all we fear,
We are much more than,
The cogs in the gear
In the spring of hope,
We brave the cold of despair
Instead of lending a rope,
We’d rather send up a prayer,
We always justify,
Turning a blind eye
All you know,
Is what you’re told,
By self appointed guides and gods,
All you see,
Is what you’re shown,
And you don’t feel that you need more?
